The Purchase

While working seemingly dead end jobs in 2006 and every day mimicking the one before, we decided to attempt to put our money to work for us instead of us working for our money.

Since our jobs required many hours of driving, we took advantage of the time to listen to investment audiobooks and explore our options. Turns out that Real Estate was a common denominator for these books.

After acquiring the money down, saving, and beefing up our credit scores in preparation for a solid purchase, we hit the Market and after a couple of months, we found the perfect house within our budget. It was a Proud moment.

So once the final paperwork was signed, we got to work getting it ready to rent. The house itself was built in the 20's and upon replacing the kitchen counters and cabinets, my girlfriend and her father found old receipts and postcards hidden in the wall dating back to the mid 1930's.
In order to save money, my girlfriends father insisted we stay in the house instead of checking into a Hotel room, by the end of the day he had changed his mind and did not want to stay in that house for reasons we still don't know.
